I just bought a 6 by 12 trailer and I have a toyota tacoma v6 which can pull up to 5000lbs. The trailer weighs 1200 empty and I haven't towed it yet but would you guys suggest getting the transmission cooler from u-haul which is where I purchased my hitch. If not what would you guys suggest if anything to help cool the tranny etc.

    Well weigh your options...

Cost of a tranny cooler (good insurance)
Cost of rebuilding or new trans. (bad position to have even in the off season)

For the price of a cooler it's cheap insurance, That truck could haul it without a cooler and may never have a problem the entire time you own it but with anything mechanical... Things break...

On a Tacoma the cooler isn't really needed, however if your going to buy one, get it from the dealer, your safer, it WILL fit, and shouldn't be hard to install.

First check to see if the truck is already eguipped with one.:) If it is not and you decide to buy one DONT BUY IT FROM UHAUL! Just head to your local auto parts; they're easy as hell to install. Only 2 hoses to connect.
