I am going to be trying scotts Turf Builder with Weed and Feed. I got a Half bag from my father-in-law for free. I looked at the directions on when to spread it, but as volatile as the weed and feed is I was wondering if there are any onther recommendations.

I know it has to go onto a moist law (either with dew or spray water on before application)

It has to have a day temp of at least 60 degrees.

It must be applied in the morning when the weeds are growing.

It cannot rain for 24 hours.

You must mow it 2-3 day before hand.

What about the night temp? Is this a factor?

Is the weed n feed more effective when the temp's are higher?

Should I not Weed and Feed and just fertilize?

Some other notes are that the grass is mostly BG with a small amount of Fescue and Rye. I live in the Midwest. The weeds I am trying to get rid of include Chicweed, Creaping Charlie, Purple Bells, and dandelions.

    Thanks for your help.

Even as a pro I've NEVER had any luck with weed and feeds. I feel your much better off using a fertilizer then applying a liquid weed control such as weed b gone from a pump sprayer.

I'm glad to hear your reading labels. That's a great place to start.

    Good luck
