I bought a used Turf Tracer HP with a 52 inch deck a few weeks ago. When I engage the blades, it makes a squeeling or screeching sound. Is this normal for it to do this? It is a manual blade engagement. Does it just make this sound because it is the belt grabing on the pulley? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks. I posted this in the exmark thread, but didn't get any replys.

Yes you are right. It's the belt squealing. I have a 48" TT that does the same thing. I don't use it much so I don't worry about it. For me the important thing is how it does once it is engauged. You may want to check the belt and make sure it's not too shiny. If so you may consider getting a new one.
