Anyone going Weather Matic SL? We are. Input?
what the price for decoders clock for the wm... i love the hunter acc-d but it's $texas
How many zones are you using a two-wire system on?
The single decoders cost around $55 for a single, ~$100 for a double, and then a quad is ~$150. The current system is our first 2-wire and it's only 12-14 zones (client may add before we wrap up). This is the WM system using the WM wire, coupled with the weather monitor.
Mike, you'll like this, 12 zones and 150 RB1812SAMS!
This project was on a budget so I opted to go with RB plastic nozzles, not brass.
Looks to me that the cost of those decoders encourages you to group those valves in manifolds of four. I'd send a message to WM to let them know about this project. They would be wise to make sure you guys succeed. Whose decoders are these?
Does that make it a fair trial of the product? Giving the mfr a heads-up?

kick Hank's butt for using plastic nozzles:::::
I believe the Weather-matic system uses the Baseline decoder technology, developed by some ex-HP guys in Boise, Idaho. It's supposedly the most reliable decoder on the market... and that I heard from their competition!
Hunter is in the process of phasing out their old decoders and going with the ACC system. We had a lot of problems with availability because of the transition and bugs in the new product. Made for a nice opportunity to try Weathermatic's offering.
Wm does use baseline, that is for sure. And I believe they are out of Florida.
