Looking for ideas on how you would light this area. The area is under a large porch which has columns above (columns are lit at the base from 2nd floor above fascia). I'd like some ideas to light this not only from an aesthetic, but also it would make it a bit more secure and cohesive (and not have a completely dark lower level).

Would you light underneath the porch area and illuminate underneath ?
Uplighting exterior surface and ignore underneath ?
Dual flush to floor uplights on each side of all the arches to illuminate the arches ?

Ignore the fact that there are large ground gutters (which we addressed in a previous thread) as homeowner is willing to core into the ground gutter if need be. This is an aesthetic question more so than a technical how to :). There are standard (non-landscape) lighting fixtures underneath and within the area already. They are dimmable and controllable that could illuminate underneath - but it doesn't look that 'dramatic' when lit and nothing else is done outside with all the other elements are worked in.

    Thanks for any suggestions
