Has anyone uses the Grass Buster as shown in video to scrape under mower decks? I've been using a putty knife since 1975 but this tool might be a better alternative.
I think it would depend on the mower deck design. I do not like the curved tip and relatively narrow blade of the Grass Buster. I use a stiff 3" wide scraper/putty knife with an angled tip, and would not give it up for that thing. I have had mine for something over 20 years.
My Grass Buster has gone missing so in the search to find another I came across this one below. In person it looks/feels well made. Its got a longer handle than the GB and the tool-end has some flex to it just the same. Looking forward to trying it out...

I like the looks of this scraper. Is it completely flat or is it slightly spooned up, hard to tell in pic. Description in first pic. says Bent, Stiff, so I assume it's slightly bent upward.
Where did you purchase and cost?
BTW, if you also need another GrassBuster, it's available at ProPartsDirect.
I don't know which of these would be better but I didn't realise there was that much difference between a putty knife and a paint scraper until I couldn't find my paint scraper and I used a putty knife to scrape my mower deck thankfully I found the paint scraper and I have now brought a spare one the putty knife is just to thin and flexible
Just tried a Grass Buster this am. Not bad!! I wouldn’t call it a game changer. But it was good! I like the flex and the handle was more comfortable than the particular scraper I’ve been using. I’ll probably keep using it!!
I tried several options before switching to a paint scraper several years ago. The paint scraper is much more effective. Anything that is rounded simply takes longer and doesn't clean as well.

I don't care if you like your putty knife so much you gave it a name and made little dresses for it. Whatever floats your boat.
I'm glad I bought a Grass Buster. Works great. I think I'll order another!
Edit: Nevermind. They want $11.99 flat rate shipping. They can keep it.
I'll look and see if I can find a better price!
Somebody posted on here to use a multi tool to scrape the deck. I got a scraper blade and have been using it this yr. Much less effort on my part when the deck gets dry and crusty
Does someone make a good chisel/ scraper type tool for cleaning out under the deck? I've been using a little gardening spade type shovel. It used to work well on a stamped steel deck but not so much on a welded steel deck. What is your tool of choice for this task?
I feel dumb for saying this, because it's so simple, but that cloth tarp is quite clever. Much better than laying on the pavement, and makes cleanup a cinch...
Seriously. Blow it deep in the bushes. Don’t your props have bushes around the fence lines ? Who the heck would know or care. We do very high end stuff and been doing this for many many years.
When there are woods next to where I mow, sure, scrape it and blow it into the underbrush.
Into people's mulched beds? Are you kidding me?
That's more trashy than the hack who cuts my neighbor's grass and leaves half the street covered in grass clippings.
Yea. Most props here have clusters of thick ceder or other shrubs or hedges where there’s no way a few clumps of grass blown deep would ever be detected. Considering we’re mulching everything it kinda seems stupid to haul away a bit of grass build up instead of feeding the bushes.
I tried looking for burlap tarps online and I can't find ANYTHING like what I have in the photo above.
I've seen guys dumping mower bags of grass onto these things for YEARS around here.
My mower dealer sells these. Why can't I find them online? Crazy.
Does anyone else in other areas see/use these things?
Like I said, they have a heavy, black, nylon handle/loop on each corner - it's not just a square of burlap.
I guess it's about 5'x5'
