Anyone know how well the vac attachment for the Little Wonder works? How long it takes to switch from blower to vac? How well it shreds?
Thanks.

I was told two years ago that they stopped making this attachment. Too much damage was occuring to the impellars.

I have one of the little wonders with the leaf vacuum attachments. I used to use to vacuum attachments all the time until I got a 16hp truck mounted vacuum. The only time we use the attachments now is to blow large rock beds out with the loading tube. It is pretty slick. The attachments worked great though. You can make your own attachments if you have the old style Little Wonder.

My dealer also stated they had stopped making them a few years ago,, they said due to safty concerns with rocks launching out of the thing??? And I also heard it clogs up easily ??? Dont' know if this is totally true, but that s' what someone had told me..

Are you guys all talking about the little handheld blower/vac???

I just received a pamphlet from them recently. It's selling at $249.
It shows it having a metal impeller. I was thinking about getting one for little areas that collect leaves that aren't really worth blowing out.
I wonder which is better, the Little Wonder or the Echo shred-n-vac? I think the Echo is slightly less expensive.

I have a chance to pick up a used one. Was going to use it to shred some leaf piles on lots without enough turf to mulch with mower. Was wondering how finely it shreds leaves, was planning on shooting compost directly into the gardens.

I have one of those and wish I never bought it. the reason is is that it gets clogged up too easy. The impeller is double sided... meaning the "fan" blades are in between two plates of metal. Great for make more wind but absoluty horrible of passing debris ( such as leaves) through. Your better off spending the extra money for a real billy goat or what ever leaf sucker or truck loader. I want to try using a bagging unit off a lazer a as a loader. same thing isn't it?

Are you talking about an UltraVac? Because, I thought about this before, and think that would be Awesome! Have a long hose to the back of your truck, and just back over the piles, putting them up into the truck. Just an idea!

I have one, and use it at least once each leaf season. I used to use it a lot more before I learned to mulch em. It has one 10' hose for intake with a handle on it. Then you have a 20' hose on the exhaust side. You put that up in your truck bed and suck away! As long as you keep the 20' hose relatively straight and you arent trying to suck up real fine debris, it rarely clogged. Warning, they will suck up big rocks and make a hell of a rackett. My blower housing has a small dimple sticking out of it to prove it! As long as you have a Little Wonder with the straight heavy steel impeller, then you can do it. The newer ones are magnesium impellers I think, and would break if you used it as a loader. Be warned that the hoses cost about $300 and then you have to buy the adapter plates. Forget how much the kit was from LW as I bought mine in 1986.

Lawn Jockey,

I may be mistaken, but I dont believe Craftsman ever made anything close to what Casey and I are talking about. 8-13 hp blower, well over 3000 cfm and able to somewhat duplicate on a smaller basis what 16-50hp truck loaders do. Maybe they did, but I never seen anything in Sears anything like this.

Here is mine I have for sale on eBay.

A correction to my above post. My blower is a 1990 unit, and I bought the hose kit in 1993. Those hoses only lasted 3 seasons and they ripped. I then bought some nice industrial HD hose from a industrial supply house. They are still like new today!

Here is a picture to help you guys out.
