How many of you take a vacation in the summer when things are busy? Sprinkler biz in Colorado is limited to about March 15 to Dec 1, so we have to make money during those months.

I just took 2 weeks in Montana (smokey as heck due to the fires). I was impressed with the way my technician handled things here. He is also a friend of mine and stayed at my house to take care of the dogs. He was able to troubleshoot a couple of things on his own that I didn't think he would have been able to.

I just think it's a waste to not vacation during the nice summer months. I've also taken a few long weekends for hot air ballooning (a buddy of mine is a pilot and I crew for him). Going up to Snowmass in mid-Sept as well. Have also been to Albuquerque in Oct in the past.

Just curious if you all wait until winter when things slow down.

Atlantic Ocean at the top and lower Barnegat Bay where the marina sits. I'm in the marina sticking out into the water. The breezes are tropical, sunsets spectacular, the drinks plentiful and cool and the women are the very best a man can meet.

No biggie. 26ft Sea Ray Sundancer. Same view as the big boats at a fraction of the cost. We can only go to 40 ft on a few boats in this place. Sometimes I fish from mine and sometimes I go with a friend on one of the bigger ones.

Hey Dana the fish might on da little side but that sure looks very relaxing. I have never used a fly rod before I looked at one at wal mart. The surroundings looks beautiful. That water is super clear.

C'mon Dana....you can do better than that right here at home.....course it will cost you a little......unless you clean 100 more fish for me some day!

That blue sky looks familiar doesn't it?

As for vacationing, I do it a little here and a little there...as Dana knows. Long weekends for us are Wednesday to Sunday...we took 5 of those this year...although we didn't go far at all. When I get back there is stack of notes on my computer 2 feet high.....and stacks and stacks of paperwork. Mostly my fau;t cuz I won't delegate some of the stuff.

I think you almost have to do it, but there should be systems in place in your absence.

I did catch a few others bigger than that. Not huge, but the smaller ones tend to put up a good fight too.

We've done quite a few of the 3-4 day weekend getaways as well. Mainly for ballooning. Actually, we have a big balloon fest this weekend over labor day here in town. Tony and GroundMaster - let me know if you are going to come out. I'll let ya know where we are and what balloon. I myself don't go up too often. We tend to have "incidents" when I go up. Although I did go up Sunday and no problems.

Like most of you guys I take several 3 to 4 day mini-vacations through out the summer.......its the only way to get away from things for awhile.

We are going to Boston and then York, Maine for 10 days in mid September thou-----not actually a "summer" vacation, but pretty close.
