1.5" female outlet out the top of a lake pump. Mounted tight, plumbed tight., taped heavily. Why does the nipple go loose every now and again? Note the dirty spray on the elbow from the gap. Sch80 nipp.

From that elbow down the line, everything is golden. Compared it to a new one and caliper is identical, not distorted. Tape appeared to have been doing the work for a while.

Well, you better tell us these things, we always blame the sprinkler guy. I'd say heat and/or vibration, go brass, my son.
