Video of root collar excavation with air spade for girdeling roots on a Live Oak

    Here is a link to a video done by a Arborist friend I called when we had a tree going south at one of my clients homes.


    The foreman recognized a problem and did the initial excavation and when he saw the bundle of spinning roots he knew what the problem was. We called John and he videoed the "procedure" the cost was 300 bucks and the tree is already pushing out new leafs.

    Interesting.........and useful.

    I routinely plant trees and shrubs, especially potted plants that are very root bound. I always slice some of the outer roots and they thrive very well.
