Here are a few pics from the expansion of my apartment complex that I took a couple of days ago that I though all the Cat fans would enjoy. It's been interesting watching them, but it's not too much fun hearing them fire everything up at about 6:30 every morning. I'll see if I can't get some more pics later.

if that was going on behind my apartment here at school I would never get any work done because i would always be watching...actually i would probably try and get a job for them working between classes and weekends

I imagine the apartment management could ask them to start a bit later. 6:30 is ridiculous. I don't have much patience for contractors that do that in a residential setting. It's as bad as contractors working through the night in a neighborhood when they really don't have to.

deadlines will make your work 24/7 if it comes down to that....6:30-7 is a pretty standard time to start whether your residential or commercial, most people are up for their jobs and showering...plus these guys get a good kick out of waking up all the hungover college kids

There may just be local ordinances that govern how early they can start or stop their work.

There are places we have worked around here, usually places with money (Sun Valley, Jackson Hole) that have ordinances that prevent you from starting before 0800 usually and everything is shut off at 1700.

Cat is really strong in the south in the big iron.
Komatsu is the only other real contender here.
In Georgia I think Komatsu has Cat on excavators but Cat rules on everything else.
