Can't say much about Ferris--I do know that the older ones had very little trim overhang on the decks.

A few pros of Scag WB's--light weight, unbreakable decks, best spindles on the market, clean cut, good stripes, I have an older belt drive 48in that I am very pleased with (my first commercial mower--I asked a few pros for advice on what to buy and they all said scag)

Others surely can give info on the newer Ferris WB's.

I've been using Scags a long time. All belt drive all 36", have 3 and don't have many problems. Plenty of dealers around for parts, and thats important! Don't know much about Ferris, don't even know a dealer in my area who carries them.
