Can a 54" walker deck's gear-boxes be re-built? Or should I just go and buy a new gear-box? A few of the teeth in my current gear-box are broken. Any suggestions on what to do? Also where can I get one of the gears or the gear-box? Thanks alot

Yes they can be rebuilt. If they are the end gearboxes then you should be able to get from JThomas. A whole rebuild kit is $49.95. If you stopped using the deck as soon as you broke the gear, then you can probably just wash out the gear box and then replace the gear. I have had success this way.

You can buy just the gears from Tecumseh Peerless dealer. The number for the gearbox should be on a tag somewhere on it. Dave at RPM sales can help you if yoiu need it and he can sell yoiu the parts.
