I ended up with some erratic starting issues last night trying to mow with my Walker and only solved them by banging on the starter a few times with a hammer. The solenoid is less than a month old and the battery was given a thumbs up by AutoZone.

I checked the part manual for my 16hp Kohler-powered mower. I see it in the breakout diagrams but it only references the starter brackets and all the associated wiring with p/n's yet no actual starter p/n. Are these things meant to be changed independently of everything else? And were can I find this stinkin' part number? I was hoping to get this done myself with traveling to the dealer. Thanks.

Post the model, spec and serial numbers off of the engine tag. Or check out www.kohlerplus.com
