I get about 60% of new clients from my website now. Did it myself. But I do that on the side anyway.
I agree with the previous post... Websites are becoming a "tool". In today's marketplace, from past work experience, they serve a very vital part of what businesses do. Sites can provide detailed reporting, marketing info and give real info for the marketing demographics that they are reaching. It is hugely important. Building a site with those capabilities are something that requires more than just a simple site. These complex types of websites are sophisticated, expensive and also allow for loyalty campaigns. All these things are extremely useful tools for not just your new clients, but existing ones as well. I am working on development of a new site for our business now. It is a lot of "layers' of work. Just my 2 cents.
Website is a must. 24 / 7 signage. Yellow pages are dying. Content is king. Create good content for your target audience and you will not need too much other advertising besides your website. Good luck
