Do you guys prefer to use the Weed control felt or nothing at all?
Fabric is a big waste. 6 mil poly under rock, otherwise nothing
I almost always use fabric under rock, but really advise against it under mulch. The mulch disintegrates and turns into dirt. I had rather treat for the weeds than deal with the fabric.
Even under rock after the rock gets a few rains on it, there will be weeds that start popping up. They just grow on top of the fabric and you can pull them with ease if you stay on it.
DeWitt Pro5 woven is what I use. Very little problem with weeds in my own landscaping (now installed for 4 years), and other jobs I have done. Yes, you do get a few (very few) surface weeds growing on top the fabric, but they are super easy to pull out. I would never lay down rock without fabric, you are asking for huge problems.
Have never used plastic nor plan to.
