I have a Lazer, had the same problem, any time there was a load put on the engine, such as the blades being put on it cut out....i took the carb apart and unhooked the fuel line and blew it out with my air compressor...it's happened twice and that fixed it both times, apparantly a small piece of trash/debris got in there....hope this helps..oh and not to mention changed the air filter inner and outer elements, or at least blow yours out a little depending on how old they are....

You may have a leak in an intake gasket or fuel line, also. It sounds like it my be sucking air from some point.

If you hear any noise when you engauge the blades..you might have a spindle locking up and that too will pull motor down to point of almost killing. but you most likely hear a noise. But it sounds more like mentioned..fuel problem when on demand.
