I've been mowing on and off for other companies for about 8 years. I did full time irrigation for over a year. Now I have a full time 40 hr a week security job that pays for me to take classes in business managment and turf grass, but I am getting a head start with starting my company this year. I know you guys will give me a hard time cuz of my set up but this is just to start since this is not my main sorce of income I have bought everything out of pocket or already had it. My trailer is only a 5x8 but its perfect for right now plus it was paid off a few years ago( i got it to haul my dirtbike to the track on). im pulling my trailer with my 2000 jeep cherokee. im going to keep this thread going as I grow my business so everyone can see how it goes. :usflag:

If it were me I'd try the engines before replacing them. Some times they just need to get a good carb tune up. They look like they just need a little tlc and you can start making money with them with out dumping to much into them. And maybe instead of buying a new engine you will be investing in new equipment altogether?

On another note, my son has been looking at Jeep Cherokee's (sport like you have) for over a year, and for some reason I looked at C.L. on sat. morning and came across a 94 that has 200,000 miles on it but runs pretty good. It needs a lot of maintenance work (belts, hoses, radiator flush, ac charged those kind of things) before we really start driving it on a regular basis, and some cosmetic work as well but for the most part I think it will make a great vehicle. I'd like to take some photo's and post them to see what you think of it. If that would be OK? But for right now I gotta get to work. Talk to you later. Good luck this week, David ps; thanks for all the help with the Insurance, Chow.

I worked on the new red 36" exmark... took the top off of the motor and cleaned out a huge mouse nest blew everything out... changed the oil, sparkplug, airfilter fuel lines and filter, and new gas. It started after about 5 pulls using starting fluid, we can keep it running off of the starting fluid but the motor isnt getting gas through the carb. we cleaned it up pretty good but I am going to take it to a shop to get it done right. all that is left is 4 new tires new belts and blades and its ready to go... not to bad for a back up for now.... then starting on the green one which is really red under the green paint.

It seems to be a fun project so far. Its going to be nice when its all done, so far I have $30 so far that just for a tune up parts... I dont think the carb will be two much...
Thanks everyone for the support with the 2 new mowers... they are work in progress and since it will be very little money going into them they should be money makers from the start.... if anyone has any info on these mowers it would be nice also since i think they are about 25 years old lol....

red one is model 36-12b-5
green is model 36-11b

I cant find any information on these model numbers

Just finished my web page, its nothing special but it gets my name out there and i feel that it is better than nothing. I am going to mow some very nice houses tomorrow and I'll get some pics to post on here and on my web site. I don't think anyone should post pics on something like that if the work isn't theres. Let me know what you think of the page, I know its kinda lame for now but once again you have to start somewhere.

Thanks
Wes
I have posted some pics of my door hangers up in the pics site you can search for We'll push Lawn Care & Snow Removal and you will find them but I am also going to attach it here. I print these door hangers myself and I price them for naborhoods around me. I know the area and know how much I would charge so I put a price right on the door hanger for example I sub division that will take 15 min to mow 5 to trim and 5 to blow off drive I would charge my min ammount which is $30 so I place that on the door hanger when I put it on there door is this a bad idea if so how come? I changed the wording on the first one pictured below to new wording that says it will start at 30 is this better please let me know what you think also this is just the front I am worried about ill attach that back to get your comments on that as well. Thanks for any imput both good and bad.

This is my first time mowing my church they had someone else before me but after the way it looked so now I am doing it.
Yeah I havn't seen to many people from around here on here. I am from the Perrysburg area. I'm trying to keep my business for now in the Perrysburg, Rossford, Stony Ridge, moving down To BG just a little bit. Where do you get most of your lawns. I am also tryin to stay with the houses vs. business, most people seem to not want to do them so I am having a pretty good market so far. As for a list of equipment

2000 Jeep XJ
5X8 trailer with trimmer rack on front
2-Maruyama trimmers (1 strait, 1 curve shart)
1 lawnboy 21" sp push mower
1 36" lesco belt drive wbm (with bagger)
1 60" exmark ztm
cheep blower
need to buy a edger

everything is paid off except the jeep that is my pov so I dont really count it against my business, My business insurance including a 1,000,000 libality coverage is less that what i was payin for just the jeep it also covers 8000 in equipment, full coverage on the jeep and 1000 for the trailer pretty good deal. so when I am looking at profit vs. loss I dont count the insurance or jeep payment because I would be paying that much anyways lol

its down off of 795 and 75, I'm still really small I have just 3 accounts and then I do my church for free. My church is on River Rd over there by the bridge going to maumee I'm hoping to get some customers from people driving by the church we will see if not I'm really only out just a few dallors for gas. I'f im not at Owens working and I'm not working on my equipment then I am working for my girlfriends dad he owns his own landscaping co so I get some good experence and pratice and also a lil money on the side.
