Yeah, it was relatively nice for a change. Lawns are still soft. Can't dry up when it's upper 40s after a weeks of rain.

Saw more torn up lawns today from guys using big walk behinds when the turf isn't ready for it. One of them created a "dirt ring" around a tree. It was obvious that they run a circle around the tree ring by the way the grass was nearly gone around the ring - you could clearly see the tread pattern in the dirt. The rest of the lawn looked like hell too - all torn up on the turns and just a general mess.

I looked up today and saw something I hadn't seen in a while - clear skies.

Holy crap. I think this is the first week the whole season where the grass wasn't 10-11" tall at every job I pull up to!

OCTOBER 24th and the spring growth has FINALLY slowed down!!!

Anyone in the east do leaf work in Edgewood?

A client of mine said that the municipality sent out an email notifying residents that the leaf vacuum is out of service and they can not collect leaves blown to the curb as usual - possibly all this fall.
They will only be picking up bagged leaves.

    Booo!

And, the beat goes on, ... clouds, drizzle, sprinkles. With so much wet in late Sept, through Oct, I thought we might have a dry leaf season. Not so!

I think I have about 50% of the leaf work finished. Where are others in the cycle?

I only have one property labeled as "done," having made last cut last week. I have several scheduled for "last cut," but am focusing on leaves when I get out to work.

Fall 2018 has been a challenge.

Anyone do snow removal in the city?
    Edgewood.

I have a mowing client who needs someone to clear a driveway/sidewalk and she says the two homes adjacent to her need someone as well.

This is on Race Street - snowblower, or shoveling - too small to plow.
I can't commit to snow removal as I'm probably working a part time job over the winter, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Street view. This was the easiest way to show the size without posting an address. Google Street View
Going up Race Street, they are about half way up on the right.
