Why fert under them when the person can't mow under them?

I was with a big LCO yesterday looking at some trees. He has a Tree & Shrub care route. I saw one of the biggest trempolines I've ever seen right in the middle of an otherwise beautiful formal knot garden. Half the grass beneath the thing was dead. The other half is declining due to the shade. I don't treat or cut lawns anymore, but if this were my customer, I'd offer to edge the area out (for a small fee) & mulch beneath the thing. What a nightmare it would be to move that thing around often enough to preserve the turf.
