What caused this?

    I need help finding out what was the main cause of the problem pictured.

    It's St Augustine grass and in Central Fla.

    looks as if someone was spraying for weeds in the mulch and got a little drift. homeowner????

    I think some roundup ran farther than expected.

    If those two spots are the only ones and no others in the central part of the yard where there is only grass I'd say somebody used Roundup or the like.

    First guess - herbicide overspray

    Second guess - contaminated mulch

    looks like roundup around the tree base. and over spray from the beds on the other.

    it looks like herbicide damage around the tree, but by the beds, I am no too sure. Almost in a way looks like it could be brown patch

    Looks like roundup but another possibilty might be it got weed whipped too low.

    Actually, considering everything I see, my first guess would be fungus.

    The customer needs to realize they are gonna have to spend a little so you can stay on top of the beds.

    Take a mulch fork and lift the mulch.
    You'll see evidence of what I mean lying underneath is my guess.
