The folks here care about their work and work in price competitive environments. Job requirements can require seeding at different times, and customers expectations can vary. Irrigation or lack of irrigation, traffic, and maintenance can also vary.

What seed/seed mixes do you use?

Futura 2000 perennial ryegrass seed. Beautiful dark green color. I will never use annual ryegrass again.

The standard is KBG, but the general trifecta is, KBG, fescue, and per. rye. There is a large number of varieties each.

But which varieties do you use?

I like the Creeping Red fescue and whatever else Jay-Mar puts in their mix. Usually a couple or three different KGB and Per Ryes each.

Futura 2000 is a blend. Pickseeds has a had newer versions, the current being Futura 3000 introduced in 2007; Futura 2000 was introduced in 1991.

Pick doesn't commit to the percentages in their blends. However, the newer varieties in the newer blend are rated for higher disease resistance, denser turf, and finer leaf texture.

I've been using Lesco's Teammates Plus TTTF blend (TTTF, PR and KBG) on all renovations/repairs for the last couple of years, being that the need for them is mostly due to drought and TTTF is drought tollerant.

I really don't do many new lawn installations but when I do I go with Lesco's Park & Athletic mix (PR, KBG, Creeping Red and Chewings Fescues).
