What happened to my echo pb-500t

    I was out blowing yesterday then all of the sudden I hear a major rattle then the blower just quit the pull string is locked sounded like a piston ring to me I'm wondering if it can be fixed

    Probably not worth it. The cylinder is likely scored. Cost of a jug, piston and rings usually out weighs replacement cost.

    That's what I thought I got it from a friend of mine who had it who never changed anything for 2 years til I got it so I knew it wouldn't be long

    Sorry to hear that, Patriot is right.

    My PB-500H has been going on 3 years without any issues.

    try a red max next. I havent had great luck with their trimmers but the backpack will not quit.

    No str8 gas and I always run fresh gas this thing had carb issues from the start always had to run wot to keep it running I've heard good things about redmax but they are in not in the market in my area all echo stihl husqvarna shindaiwa

    try a shindy next. yes we have NO redmax dealers here anymore!

    If you want Redmax and have no dealers, the big Husqvarna blowers are just re-badged Redmax. There seem to be more Husky dealers.

    It can be fixed but you have to do the work. I had a 620 that cracked a ring just last week. It did not damage the cyclinder significantly. I raid the dump for parts and have a piston. I will put in bearings, rings, and seals and gaskets and $33 will cover the stuff. There are tons of good parts at dealer because to get units in that people put raw gas in and then just trash them. All the bearings and seals are fine. Good ole two strokes.
