WHat is dead in my grass

    I assume this is some sort of grass but I don't know what it is. The thing is that most of it is brown and dead. Can anybody help?

    Looks like stems from your grass that produced seed awhile back. After seeding, the stems die off. No big deal.....

    so are you saying next season they will be gone?

    They should be fairly unnoticeable within weeks, as they decompose.....

    I hope so. they are pretty strong still. The roots feel like they have alot left in them
