Does anyone have a good ratio to mix seed for grass in southern il? mostly tall and rough fescue and ky bluegrass around here with ur regular lawns with crabgrass and weedy grass. I heard mixing about 90% fescue with 10% ky bluegrass is good but I was wondering what some of the pros thought of that. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

To many variables involved to suggest a blend, like, Overall condition of the existing lawn, soil type, shad/sun exposure, are you looking for something low maintenance or high, do you want something drought and disease tolerant, is the lawn irrigated or will it need to be hand watered, is it high traffic areas or low?....etc.

This is just a basic assessment without physically looking at it. Best thing to do is take some pics and write down an evaluation then bring this info to your local seed supplier and let them give you their professional recommendations on what will work best for your situation.

    Good luck........

    Ok sorry..

Some lawns: got some weeds, low traffic, shady, and have to be hand watered
others: little to no weeds, little shade, irrigated

I'd like for them to be mostly if possible disease and drought tolerant

Hope this helps, any feedback is appreciated, thankyou
