anyone? does it go over new seed?
Seed prep and improving existing soil conditions mainly what I use it for...might be other uses.
do you put it over the seed after its spread or before. and what the best way to over seed a lawn, so the birds dont eat it?
I put it down before and then just lightly rake the seed in to it after I spread. I also prefer triple mix over top dressing but thats just personal preference.
Topdressing also helps to break down thatch
Has anyone ever had a problem with the birds eating seeds, Ive heard about it , but never seeen it?
Topdressing is a common term used for material you spread over turf. It can be anything from dirt, sand to manure or compost. You can use it for hudreds of reasons. Most common are for filling in a rough lawn to changing the top soil makeup. It is a common practice on golf courses and just getting a good start on home lawns.
I would suggest you study up a bit on it before you attempt it.
