I know this has been covered many times but have a few questions:
Hello, I am new to the Forum. I have read so much educational posts on here about oil and I have a few questions. I just purchased a Bad Boy 60" with the Kawasaki FS730V Motor. I am going to do the first oil change this weekend and have decided I am going to run Rotella 15w40 for sure. I have ran this in my Diesel and it has proven well by me. Two questions I have:
1. Would it be worth me running the Synthetic 15w40 it is about $5.00 more per Gallon or just stick with the Dino Juice?
2. I have another Kawasaki FR730V in my Husqvarna that has 120 hours on it. I have been running the straight 30 weight Opti 4 synthetic in it from the start since the dealer talked me into it for the double warranty on the engine. Can I safely switch from the synthetic in it to the Rotella 15w40 conventional or synthetic without harm or do I have to stick with Synthetic and the same weight oil?
I live in Oklahoma and mow about 5 acres on my own property and it gets really hot here. I have read that you should not go from Conventional to Synthetic after many hours on a motor but thought it was safe to go from Synthetic back to Conventional with no worries but I have read differently on here that I need to stay with Synthetic. Any helpful tips and comments for past experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
