What plants go well in the bay area

    I need to find some plants/shrubs/small trees that would go with a lawn in the bay area. The summer on average have highs of 100 degrees plus and the winter months wit a low of 40 degrees (once in a while will get a freeze). Does anybody know what I should plant that would look good and go with those conditions and how much they cost.

    Go to your county's cooperative extension website find out where the Master Gardeners office is and visit. A professional full-service nursery is also a good starting point.
