My yard is quite sandy and rocky, I was wondering what type of seed to put down? I live in northern Michigan, half the yard is shaded by oaks and the other half is total exposed to the sun. I was told creeping red fescue grows good in this type of environment. Any professional feedback would be appreciated. Thanks J.T.M.

A combination of fine (creeping red) and a medium blade turf type tall fescue would work well in your area.
