What size trailer do I need?

Posted the question earlier in the wrong forum.

What is the most efficient size trailer to be pulled by a mid-size truck? Concerned about fuel cost of large 3/4 ton trucks.

Need to haul a 60" ZTR (trying to decide which to buy between 60" & 52") and WB.
Will a single axle trailer do fine?
Do I need brakes?

Currently own a 1 year old, 5'x14' single axle trailer without brakes.

Really need help on this trailer issue to help decide on the size ZTR I will buy.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 6.5x12 that I pull with an S-15, I have a wb and a 48'' ztr mower and a push edger and a 21'' mower on it. It seems to pull it ok a lil slow but what concerns me now is that the trailer and equipment is weighing 2000 pounds or more and the truck weighs about 2500.Im asking the braking system to do almost 5000 pounds of work that it was orignal built to do 2500. I would think you would be ok with a single axle trailer but get brakes on it, check the prices and see how much difference it is in a dual and a single axle. Oh and if you do get a single axle make sure the axle is rated for 3500 lbs

I would advise with that equipment that you go with a dual axle with brakes. Most trailers only have brakes on 1 axle. get the 6.5 by 14 or 16ft. You could also add brakes to your existing trailer.
