I've never owned a stick edger...and am curious how you all (and your crews) manage to NOT hit sprinkler heads that are in essentially direct contact with sidewalks and curbs?

A string trimmer doesn't seen to do much if any damage to these little sprinkler heads...

Tanaka TPE 250PF...got it off craigslist last week for $200 with a whole bunch of blades and only a few scratches. Used it on a lawn with at least 5 inches of sidewalk overgrowth and it really only took a couple passes to get it near perfect. I was going to be purchasing a redmax from our local dealer but at nearly double the price, Im happy with the barely used Tanaka so far.
