What time of day do you guys pass out your door hangers?
Day light. At night (dark) people don't like that too much.
I also noticed a few houses with stuff on the doors from last Fall, those went on the mailboxes.
I still gotta pass mine out!!!!!!
Usually from 8:00am - 5:00pm
I wait until kids are at school and people are working like around 9:00 am.
I tried it at night once but felt real weird like a burglar or something.
Agreed about passing them out at night. I'd be afraid people would think I was trying to break in.
We don't pass out many, but when we do, it is done in the morning from around 9:00am to 12 Noon.
I really like your avatar. Where did you get such a cool graphic?
Don't u think it would be better to try to get them out b4 they leave when they can still plan on calling u later that day? At the end of the day, some people are pretty exhausted from whatever and only focused on getting home and doing all the things u planned on doing when u got home or any # of things. Most people plan what they're gonna do tommorrow the night b4, but are more and more flexible earlier in the day and are use to changing on the fly. And when they're doing their daily thing, they are planning what they want to do when they get home and also daydreaming about all sorts of things.....if they saw your flyer earlier that day...the thought will at least pass through thier mind at the best time possible. If they were looking forward to doing something late that day, they're certainly not gonna let a measly little flyer get in their way, if u know what I mean and not give any serious thought to your flyer. I think Sat. morning is ideal, but any morning beats a late flyer. And if they don't fall into this category, then they're probably not the type to care enough about thier lawn and/or house to bite anyway (very unlikely, at least). I say go Sat. cuz we, Landscape Contractors, are a "convenience" to most people, not like a dentist or other things that we "know" or "feel" we have to do business with because they have something we "need". The majority of people could easily let the lawn slide for other things (now we're talking about people who don't have lawn services already taking care of them, cuz they are who you're looking for. Or at least the most receptive). So b4 they even go out side they know what the lawn looks like and how they want it to look like and maybe dreading the physical activity involved or maybe just the time due to a busy schedule. Most people would plan on mowing during the wekend cuz they're off or at least they would if they could. If they run into your flyer on a Sat. morning you are marketing yourself most efficiently, as a convenience. People are more willing to buy and even pay more 4 convenience and really appreciate your services.
Or something like that.
As Nextel puts it:
I would pass them out before they get home from work.
But I like the idea of passing them out at night because then when they wake up in the morning to get their newspaper they see your flyer
