Well, im still working on my branding/uniform plan, so to speak. Problem is, i cant seem to decide on going with safety orange or safety green as the main color (trucks, logos, etc).

Overall i like orange better (look at Asplundh, great overall branding concept), but im just not sure if the SAFETY ORANGE stands out as well as all the safety green we are used to wearing. We do alot of residential work, aswell as pasture mowing/brush clearing, so im in alot of varing environments as you can tell. Im going with brown as my second color of the scheme, as it is more neutral, matches out work pants, and can be used a good base color for business cards, polos, etc.

SO, overall, from wearers of the two safety colors, what does truly stand out and catch attention more?? it seems hi-viz yellow is much more prevalent, just dont know is that safety orange stands out as well..? Thanks!

In my mind there are 2 answers to that question. The neon green stands out more to me. However you said this is also company branding. What sets you apart with that color shirt than every other company who wears them for safty vests or tshirts? Also I have seen several trucks with neon green. They do stand out and look sweet mixed with a mostly black truck but have never seen a neon orange landscape truck. that could make you stand out.

As far as truck color goes, look as Asplundh's trucks (a large tree service). That is the color truck im talking about, safety orange. Here is a "safety green" truck...

    Any other comments?

    The yellow stands out more.

But honestly, either way is good. The main thing is to stand out from the crowd. Have a logo that is totally unique and different than what anyone else has - and have a color theme that stands out, grabs your attention, and is different than anyone else in town. Either one of those colors will get that second part taken care of for you.

I think I'd work on figuring out how to get the logo to blend well with the truck and REALLY stand out in a good, professional way on the trucks. The shirts, honestly, don't matter as much. They're just for looking professional. But nobody calls you or remembers your company from shirts. It's the trucks that they remember. That needs to really be impressive and memorable. If I were you, I'd spend my money on coming up with a design that maybe re-worked your logo a little bit to really make an impression with one of those colors.

Over the last few years there have been a lot of landscaping companies making the move to using those colors for their company shirts so to answer your question…they will make your guys blend in less with natural surroundings while making them look similar to several other companies in the industry.
