What type of Rock for waterfalls and Ponds?

    What type and size of rock do you use in ponds 11 x 16 ? Where do you get them, quarries or a nursery?

    I go to the nursery, I have a lot already stock piled here, I was picking out some nice boulders towards the end of last summer just in case it was going to be a real mild winter.

    For the most part, quarry stone doesn't look right in a pond application. It's too sharp and angular to look natural. What you need is stone that the glaciers did a number on so it's all smooth and rounded. Up here in the rocky northeast that stuff is easy to come by, may not be where you are.
