But my VERY first mower, of my own, was an ancient 6hp, 26" cut Craftsman rider with a techumseh on it.. It buttered my bread in J-high..

My first Mower in the Lco biz was a 1987 21" Snapper that I purchased for 20 bucks.. My father in Law still uses it.

Way back when I had some kind of push mower, bagger contraption that I rooked my dad out of. Then I wised up and started working for the man (age 15).

    Mowing the redux.

This time I bought a 36" Gravely 150 I think dedicated mulcher, pistol grip (very used) $800 something then put $200 into fixing the tranny. Just sold it to a scrub for $600.

2 months after that purchase I bought a Toro 36 with sulky and h bar steering. Still using it. Then 2 months later bought a Gravely PM 260. Only 125 hours on her.
Then a month later bought out a business and got a snapper 36 WB and a JD 48 rider. Snapper is for sale, hate fixed decks. JD is my part time bush hog and back up for the Gravely 60.

Yeah to many mowers for a solo guy. But sold one already and the second one goes soon, I hope.

My first mower was owned by the little old lady down the street, I was about 10 if I remember right it was a snapper. Well I guess really my first mower was my fathers western auto self prop and the Massy Ferg tractor with a brush hog on back for the fields.

When I first started in biz I got a Troybuilt 3.5 hp from lowes for 80 bucks and my landlord gave me a weedeater, stole the broom out of the kitchen and loaded in all into my wife's (then girlfriend) 1982 Datson 310 Hatchback. Put some posters up at the grocery store and started getting work. Saved up $400 and bought a 1978 Chevy 1/2 ton gave it a quick paint job with auto touch up paint. Eventually traded that truck for a newer model,, a 1979 3/4 ton.

My first commercial mower was a 36 inch Giant Mow belt drive when I was a part timer.

43" Noma 18 HP tractor with a gray 21" 3.75 HP push mower. We replaced alot of parts on the tractor. Didn't hold up very well.

3.75hp Briggs and Stratton mulching mower, has been starting on the first few pulls since 1990, and it has never been treated with fuel stabilizer or fuel treatment, despite the fact that the shed it is in is either 20 degrees warmer or colder than it is outside..
