what would be a good pine type tree to plant

    were in the kansas City Mo.(zone 5) area, and friend of mine want to replace some Scotch Pines he lost to disease, he really don't want to go back to those, but wants something similiar, fairly fast growing, disease and pest resistant, within reason. thanks

    Around the toronto area mugo pine are popular.I have one in my backyard.They seem pretty hardy.but I know pines don't like wet feet.
