How thick do you intend to spread the mulch? When you know the thickness, you can calculate the volume, and learn how many cu yds you will need.

If you had a mulch bed that was 40 ft long,6 foot wide and 3 inches deep then you would have 40 x 6 x .250 = 60 cu ft

60 cu ft / 27 = 2.22 cu yds

so basically 1 cubic yrd will cover 324 ft at 1 inch deep, and L x W sq ft

Go on google and type in "mulch calculator" Then all you do is type in the dimensions and it will tell you how much mulch you need
