There have been alot of problems w/the first run of the 8000's....they Rushed Production for a Fall Release... Choke Levers and improperly assembled units....The 750 is Tried and True but Not as Powerful...If you can Wait for the 8001...Do it.

What is everyones opinion of the Deere backpack blower? Also curious about their line of trimmers?

Had a chance to check out their trimmer. I think they use the strato-charge technology that Redmax uses for their trimmers. Power to weight seems to be higher(power) than other mfgs. Their blowers, if I am not mistaken, were made by another manufacturer until recently. Green Machine comes to mind.

For leaf removal- definately the RedMax 8000, hands down. I got a '04 Echo PB650T (same as the 750, just smaller air filter and straps, but same engine and power) then later bought a 2004 RedMax EBZ8000RH to help us in leaf cleanups. It was everything people said it to be. You don't notice any difference at all until you get into thick deep leaves, then it flat out kicks butt! Its same weight as a 650/750 Echo, but has nicer more contoured and ventilated backpad of foam not vinyl, and has a waist strap to help distribute the weight. So it is comfortable too. Price very close for me. So, hands down its the 8000 from RedMax. Oh thanks to the Strato-Charge technology, the 8000 is pretty decent on fuel- uses about the same as the 650, but has that extra cc's and power :) :) win-win situation for all :) plus RedMax has an awesome reputation on here... the worst thing for me is no local dealer that is why the rest of my stuff is Echo or Stihl.

I read a post somewhere that Komatsu/Zenoah made the Green Machine line. Then Zenoah brought RedMax into the states. If someone could verify this it would be nice. That would explain the Strato-charged technology locutus was talking about.

Great power..less fuel consumption than the RedMax and quieter!
