a fixed deck hydro or a floating deck gear
Depending on the brand, I'd take the hydro everytime over a gear...
both exmark metro hp and viking
I have never used Exmarks, so I can't comment. I did use Snappers for 4 years. Both fixed and floating decks. The floating deck was nice on the gear, but for obvious reasons, I liked the loop handle hydro better. Funny thing is with the floating adjustable decks, we rarely ever changed the cutting height, and both decks gave a similar performance when cutting. The floating deck was just easier to change cutting height when needed, and if I remember, was about 700.00 more in price than a fixed deck.
comparing a hydro to a gear drive is like comparing a bicycle to a motorcycle.
