I just got the Walker listed in my signature. next is a Redmax BP blower. I was around the age of 13 when I got a Kubota tractor. I plowed with it and cut a few people's yards. It worked out great. Don't forget to save. You know the saying don't fix it if it isn't broken. Well don't buy all new equipment if it isn't broken. Insurance is also an important thing. If you shoot a rock through a car window you have to pay. It can get pricy. And please be registered with the state and fed govt. Oh don't forget to set money aside to pay for next years advertising methods.

My mom used to work at the bank and she has set up a home bank for me bc i put half my earnings last year in bank for truck and i have deposit slips and i write fake checks to people like my dad and its working awesome and im looking into insurance and getting licenses ASAP and i buy all used equipment besides the trailer and the trimmer. I wont to get all the commerical equip. now so i can save and get a sweet truck (chevy 2500 w/ plow and EZ dump like GLS's) and then have all the equipment and be making money! My tractor has a plow and i want to get into plowing this winter but we get no snow but now i plow my drive and a couple neighbors but i want to get some neighborhood accounts... -Mitch-

Good one Flex. Let the kids dream of the big time mowing business career before they hit the real world out of their parents house.

I'm 16, and a lot of kids my age are already planning for life on their own, doing lawn care and doing it correctly(no low balling) gains good business skills. and if you manage your own biz, most of us do, then you are learning financial Independence. i have been planning living on my own and being financially independent for quite some time. so before you assume that kids are blind to the real world, then think again. things have changed, and while a minority of irresponsible, alcoholic, and drug addicted teens have set a bad image for us, most 16 year olds are quite responsible.
