Whats the weight of 40 cu. yards of mulch???

    doing a muclh job for the first time its 200feet by 30 feet...how heavy would the mulch me.

    i have a 6.5x16" triailer 7000lbs axle.

    You wont get anything near 40 yards on a trailer. We use tri axel 80k gvw dump trucks filled to the top and thats 32-35 yards.

    40 yards is right.

    I'd plan on about 7-8 trips back to the mulch pile!

    With 4 foot tall sides on the trailer the most you could get onto it is 15.41 cubic yards of mulch.

    Mulch typically weighs between 500 to 800 lbs per cubic yard.

    On the low end that would be 7500 lbs for 15 cubic yards of mulch alone. most you should probably put on that trailer is about 12 cubic yards, and that could weigh up to 9,000 lbs at 800 lbs per cubic yard. And make sure your tires are well inflated and bearings well greased!

    Hire a mulch blowing company it will save you alot of time and headaches.

    You're about 15 yards shy of what you need for that square footage, FWIW.
