What's your best promotion?

    If you give coupons, something free, percentage off, what has given you the best return when advertising?

    I like to advrtise within my existing customers. If they recommend someone that signs a contract with us receives a free mowing. It works out great, the free mowing is done only after the new customer has had 2 months of service completed.

    This is good for more than one reason:
    1.you gain another customer(under contract)
    2.the referred customer is usually in the same neighborhood if not the same block as your current customer.

    direct mail, it's expensive but well worth it.

    How much does it cost you to do 5000 direct mails? or 2500?

    I offer a one time mowing opportunity. This gets my foot in the door, and 2 outta 3 sign up for regular service. I feel that a customer would rather see how good you are before they use you. Kinda like test driving a car. I mow it once, they pay me for the cut, and most the time sign em up for an ongoin service, works like a charm. Very turn key too, i never have to meet my customers. Guess u can say I get payed to do an estimate.
