I'm sure I should be starting soon, and I'm going to. I am just curious as to when the rest of you start advertising for grass cutting. I want to get an early start this year to expand my customer base, but a couple weeks ago I looked through the paper and no one had started advertising yet.

We will start door hangers next week on scouted neiborhoods. Will send new contracts to previous clients 1st week of march.
What part of detroit are you located? Are you doing work in detroit itself or suberbs of detroit?

I never stop advertising. P/U some clients even during off season.
About one seasonal client pays for most of the years advertising.

We do some advertising year round. It doesn't hurt to have your name seen more often. We pick up a new client here and there as a result of our advertising.

I just got back from the printers and should be putting out doorhangers within the next 2 weeks. I ordered 2000 and plan on putting out 500 every wednesday for the next 4 weeks, reordering, and then 1000 for the next 2 weeks after that.

If you stager them a little then you wont get as many calls all at once. And you would be amazed :dizzy: at how long people will hold on to your flyers before calling?
