I live on the Mississippi / Tennessee border. My yard is currently 1/2 bermudagrass and half weeds. I plan on doing some spraying here shortly (within a week) and will then be looking to seed after that.

When is the best time to see bermudagrass? I've heard everything from spring to summer to fall. What's the general consensus here?

Also, what's the best way to plant? I was planning on slit seeding. I have also seen aerating & broadcasting. I'd rather do it right and be done with it.

Soil temps need to be 65-70 degrees + with no possibility of frost, plant after the last average freeze for your area in the spring. Slit seeding is the best way to seed far a more uniform seed/ soil contact. 2-3 lbs for 1000 square feet.
