I have just installed new sod two weeks ago. I put turf starter down before sodding and the lawn has rooted very well. I am going to be using the Scotts Turf system for fertilizing year around. What I am wondering is this: Do I continue to fertilize on schedule for the rest of the year or do I wait and just put it to sleep this fall and start in the spring next year?

    Thank You!!

Without a soil test in my hand, I'd say:

Two more fert's this year, as with any program.

    I'd aim for 1.5-2.25 lbs/N/M & at least 1lb.K/M.

There should be no need for herbicides for the balance of this year. So don't use any, regardless of the "Scott's Program".

Sometimes even a good program must be modified for the best results.
