    i am doing research before i buy a new push mower strictly for use on my home and a few neighbors. whic od u reccomend, a john deere js 40, or the cub cadet cc989, and why?? they are both really similar, same price bot have castor front wheels ,

    deere... it will last longer and is alot fast which will hepl on time... and time it $$

    Have you looked at the honda 21'' mowers? i have one and it will cut super long grass and bag it no prob even really wet grass. :weightlifter:

    I have to agree with the last post and say look at the honda's. Around here their cut, quality, and durability is legendary.

    John Deere hands down. Tried hondas before and it was still powerful - but J/D will last the longest. Have one that's about 12 years old and stll starts on the first pull every winter:)

    An older Lawn-Boy 2 stroke IMHO is the ONLY way to go...
