What are the different tread patterns for on Caster tires? My machine came with smooth. I am due for some new treads. Maybe I will switch. Smooth? Ribbed? TurfSaver?

I have had pneumatic ribbed back in the day. What I found is that because they are ribbed and the casters purpose is just to provide support and swivel the ribs tend to tear the grass while the smooths do less damage as they tend to slide when pivoting rather than grip.... if that makes any sense.

    Ribbed are for her pleasure.

Smooth are the best for a ZTR. They don't do anything but support weight, so traction is not a factor. You want to tear up the grass as little as possible.
