I am looking to finally get me a new weed eater. Right now i only mow a few yards a week but want to get a quality one. My budget is 300 dollars. I have always liked and wanted shindaiwa but i am looking at them all. I need something for normal trimming but also enough power to chew through thick weeds and stuff. So what brand model would you reccomend?? And the approximate price for one?? I have stihl, husqvarna, shindaiwa, and echo close by. So, whats your pick??

    Thanks guys!! snapper

I just picked up a Redmax 225 and got it out the door with tax for $248

With working part time, I didn't need anything massive, but I did want it to last, as I am buying commercial grade from now on.

The only complaint I have is possibly the head, which can be changed to just about anything, but overall very satisfied with it, and it has a ton of power compared to what I had been using.

I like my Honda 4 cycle. Has plenty of power and not that much heavier to operate. A bit more than 300. I think about 325.00

Commercial true 2-cycle is the the only way to go....lighter weight and way less moving parts to fail or adjust

All the other stuff on the market is there because those manufacturers cannot meet EPA standards..

Try the Echo SRM-260.......$299 and an awesome trimmer!!

I just picked up a Red Max 225DL last week and love.
My Bose ran all Red Max on both crews.

Echo SRM-260 will hold up against anything. Tons of power.

We have a SRM-230 and it does the job for us.
    Got it for about $230

SRM 260 for $285 + tax. Awesome trimmer with 2 year commercial warranty, all the other brands only have 1 year warranties.
