Currently, times are just written down on log sheets, its old fashioned, not reliable and a major pita when it comes time to write paychecks, because i do it all manually in ms excel.

Im looking for a time punch system where they can just put in the last 4 of their SS#, it logs their start and stop times, and i can view it on the office computer when its time to write checks.

I dont want ones with built in printers etc. Dont need any of that.

It DOES need to have network or wireless capability though.

We have wireless already that will work in the garage where the crews punch in, so it can be 802.11g wireless capable or hook to an ethernet cable that will then hook to a wireless access point that will connect to the internal router in the office.

I know many are pretty fancy and you can access all the info on them almost like their own stand alone computer. I want to be able to just import their time schedules.

Their time sheets look like this. So it would have to show/log the hours like that at least and date to make my job a whole lot easier.

Whats with the 12 hr days plus? Thats alot of OT.
Or is that example, just for show.

Anyway, nothing wrong with time cards< punch clock.
And the other best thing to do with the clock, have a salary guy in every crew.

There is a company that runs ads in Turf and Snowplowing mags
I have to look for it but it is what you are looking for.
  7. i use two different methods with great success

i have used qxpress for the last 4 years. It is a add on program to quickbooks. It takes your customer list and uses it to schedule your jobs then automatically creates your invoices for you.

the second deal i have is xora.com. Each crew leader has a blackberry that has xora installed on it. When each crew clocks in each morning it show right where they clock in at and the time. It keeps up with their location all day how long the truck sits where it goes when it leaves and things like that.

Each crew logs in on each job and can write down what they are doing and it sends me a email as each crew starts and complets a job. I get a email if teh truck sits for more than 45 minutes, a job is completed quicker than 15 minutes, if the truck goes over 65 miles an hour and you can set all this up how you want it.

I am in love with xora there is more than you can do with it than what i am using it for. In the last 2 months we have had it i have watched productivity pickup. I am planning on playing more with it this winter when i have more time.
