Just wondering who is a member of a association? Like Turfgrass, ALCA, PLCAA and others like those. If you are how long have you been with them and have you reaped any benefits from them? Are they really worth the cost of joining them? The price seems high to me but might be cheap depending on what you get out of it.

I was a member of ALCA for a year. Took some of their classes where I met Dr. Kopec from U of A. His Golf and sportsturf management course was much better but I wouldn't have found it without being a member. Also met lots of employees from City of Scottsdale and from Town of Snowflake and learned alot about other companies cultures. I was going to get my ACLP but no one really seems to care about it so it had minimal benefits for me. I think the college courses were more informative. jmy.02
